This 16-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course.
Prerequisite: NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Student Class completion. Basic Pistol Shooting Class will be available on April 20th at this same location. Also since possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor, Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.
Description: Besides the pre-requisite basic class on the 20th, this course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training (BIT), and discipline specific instructor training (Pistol). Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Lesson Plans, and NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Power Point presentation.
Please bring a 1.5″ three ring binder and a “Thumb Drive” to take away electronic files with you, and Lunch for each day. Coffee, tea, water, etc with pastries will be provided each morning.
